It rolls around like clockwork, doesn’t it?
I’m speaking of Feline Friday, of course.
All it requires is that I’m around, with a camera (or two), during the time of day that there’s good natural light in the house. These cats do the rest.
Kinikini and Kali are due for their routine vet exams, and I’ve got to get those scheduled.
Other than that, they are fat and happy. Bessie still gets picked on more than her fair share, and we have a squirt bottle at the ready to discourage the “Get Bessie” behavior. Has it made a difference? Actually, I don’t think so. But when there’s bullying going on, it feels like we need to do something.
On the food front…Bessie typically eats canned food almost exclusively. Kali eats dry kibbles almost exclusively. And Kinikini is somewhere in between, although even he leans in Kali’s direction. None of these cats are interested at all in people food. For a bunch of former colony cats who lived outdoors with a little help from their friends, these three are strangely picky about what they eat. Fresh cooked fish? They’ll grudgingly eat a bit, then show their disinterest. A bit of cooked chicken? Maybe a bite. In the past, we had to fight to keep our cats away from our food, or actually block paws from intercepting food between our plates and our mouths. A favored cat spot was about 10 inches from one of our plates at mealtime. These cats? No interest.
But, without more ado, here come the cats.

Have you tried fruit? A friend’s cat absolutely LOVES little bits of apple!
