The cats are insisting on business as usual. No holiday vacation schedule for them!
Kinikini and Kali have started a new thing, though. When we get back from our early morning walk at dawn–well, at this time of year dawn isn’t too early–we walk into the house and these two are waiting. Kali is usually on Meda’s chair at the dining table, while Kini is on mine, although some days they switch spots. They are waiting for us to grab our coffee and fruit, and then come to the table and pay lot of attention to the waiting cats. Kali is usually extorting lots of petting from Meda, while Kinikini typically walks back and forth on or across my Mac laptop, which is open at my place on the table. He gets all jazzed by the attention, and often ends the session by trying to bite my arm. Sometimes they’ll have a faceoff in the middle of our breakfast and trade a few swats before taking off for other parts of the house, usually returning at least once to replay the whole process.
This used to be Kali’s little ritual, waiting on the chair for attention. Kini learned by watching, and now has joined in.
I’ll have to try to get a photo.
In any case, here come the cats!
