Dawn and dogs on Christmas Eve

It was another spectacular dawn, and there was also a wild assembly of happy, smiling dogs, including a pair of small white dogs, one a senior citizen and the other about 4 year old. And, of course, I’ve failed to get their names. There was also a totally new dog, a bit shy, but it saw treats being distributed and got right in line!

In any case, I’m working on a post (coming soon) about another Miske rumor, this time that the alleged racketeering boss was also an FBI informant. I may not post it tomorrow, given that it’s Christmas, but more likely you’ll find it here on Monday morning.

In any case, enjoy today’s colorful dawn and happy dogs!

A few days before Christmas Eve a ways ago, I was at a beach on the far end of Oahu. I met a young lady, who was smart and would certainly go far in life academically and in the work world given the right circumstances. Sadly, she was living on that beach and inside a cramped vehicle with her other family members. While others, myself included, were thinking of what presents to buy our loved ones for the big day, she was struggling to survive each day on that beach. And it must have been freezing each morning, especially that time of year when we met. It gave me a completely different perspective on the holiday season and on life.

If I tell someone to go take the city bus and see places outside of multimillion dollar homes, it’s for a reason. Sometimes, we tend to forget that not everyone has a good life.
