Monday was a holiday, but today is Feline Friday!

Here we are again, another Feline Friday.

Our cats do seem to enjoy posing, as you can see.

We do love our cats, present and past.

This generation is wholly indoors, as were our first several cats. It was in Kaaawa, at the end of a dead-end road and a 4-acre empty parcel in front of us, when we let the cats go in and out.

That meant routine injuries, usually abscesses that we didn’t notice at first. Sometimes more serious. And then there were the cats that just disappeared. We had our share of the outside cats that went out one day and never returned. We agonized every time that happened

When we moved to Kahala in the fall of 2015, we decided that these cats would be indoors. Our former Kaaawa cats made the transition without too much problem. And the new generation, rescued from a cat colony on the other side of Honolulu, seem perfectly content to spend their time in luxury.

Freedom is one thing, but apparently trumped by safety, shelter, and regular meals.
