We weren’t sure what to expect when we got home on Tuesday evening. Our cat sitter had let us know that Bessie was, as usual, happily interacting with her over the week we were gone. But Kali and Kinikini mostly hid from her the entire time, with an occasional quick look from across the room to see if “she” was really still here.
We entered from the garage, and Kali and Kinikini were right there inside the door to greet us! For the next 24 hours, they wanted to be close. Trying to be sure we wouldn’t get “lost” again? Kinikini was particularly needy, wanting constant contact. He slept with us, as usual, but Kali also slept with us, which is very, very unusual.
By now, we’re almost back to normal. I have to lose a couple of vacation pounds. The cats need to do the same thing!
In any case, here come the cats. Note the two photos with Kali and Bessie enjoying the Scratch Lounge Classic. I had just replaced the cardboard insert, and sprinkled it liberally with catnip. It all worked, and they quickly each moved in. Luckily, there wasn’t any fighting over first rights, which went to Kali.
