It turns out that this is a good time of year for the cats. The winter sun stays low in the sky longer during the day, which let lots of sunlight into the living room where the cats can now lounge for more hours per day.

Sunlight and cats are very closely bonded, it seems.

I haven’t been able to launch Bessie on a successful weight loss program since she gained weight while we were in Portland last month. With Kinikini and Kali mostly in hiding, Bessie was able to claim all of our cat sitter’s attention and the bulk of the treats she laid out.

Soon we have to take them all in for their annual checkups. Nothing requiring attention that we know of, but it’s always good to have them examined by our vet. But I’m trying to stall until after the first of the year. We’ll see how that works out.

Anyway, here they come!
