Bessie took a week to bounce back after her vet visit, but she’s been emerging from her week of hiding out. You’ll see the difference in her appearance in this week’s photos.
Events of the week. Bessie was recuperating. She refused to eat the chewable antibiotic tablets that Kinikini enjoyed, and the former generation, Duke and Romeo, looked forward to getting. Bessie? No way. Sniff and retreat. I tried to dissolve them as much as possible and then mixed them with a Churu packet, one a day. I can’t say that she ate 100% of what was offered, but she did eat most of it every day for the past week. When she stalled out, she usually ate more off my finger. It has all slowly made a difference.
What else is going on…Oh, I flipped the cardboard insert in the scratcher lounger, and rubbed a bunch of catnip into it. It has been very popular ever since. You can see Kinikini and Kali maneuvering for position.
And don’t miss the shot of Bessie watching the birds sitting up on the roof in the background. I throw out bird seed every afternoon around 5 p.m., and when the birds start to gather, Bessie is in her element. She’ll freeze in place and watch them for a couple of hours every day, unless Kinikni chases her away.
So it goes in our small cat world!

Wonderful photos of the feline family. Nice to hear the background also.

Have a nice weekend

So adorable! Glad Bessie is doing well. What a great idea to scatter bird seed so the kitties can watch the birds. I’m going to try that for my Pepper too.
