Most of you will immediately notice that Ms. Bessie has a much bigger role in this week’s Feline Friday.

Here’s the explanation. Bessie usually gets picked on by Kinikini, and to some extent by Kali as well. It’s a 2-1 game, and she’s outmatched. So she created a place to hang out on the top shelf in our small pantry/storeroom off the kitchen and laundry room. There’s a window so she gets morning sun and can watch the outside world from up there. Not long ago, we moved one of her soft cat beds up there and moved some things that had been in her way.

Well, during our recent trip to Portland, it appears that Kinikini “discovered” her spot and has been hanging out up there part of each day.

At first, I was unhappy about that. But when Kinikini was sleeping up there in Bessie’s spot, it meant that she was able to relax in the living room without worrying about whether he was going to chase her.

And her increased presence in the living room meant she was around for more of the Feline Friday photos!

So it goes in our feline-centric household.
