Today was officially Day 59 in the jury trial of accused racketeering boss Michael Miske Jr.
The trial began on January 8, 2024, with jury selection and evidentiary hearings. Opening statements were presented on January 22.
From today’s court minutes:
“Discussion held regarding the Govt.’s case-in-chief. To date, the Govt. is approximately halfway through their case-in-chief.”
And, after the government is done, Miske’s defense attorneys will present their case.
So it appears this trial will last well into August.
Is this the longest criminal trial held in Hawaii’s Federal District Court? I don’t know.
