August’s final Feline Friday has arrived!

Another month. Where does the time go?

I don’t know that the cats notice. Time passes. But days? Weeks? Months? I doubt it. Time just passes. Period.

I had to augment my initial batch of photos this week with some last-minute cat chasing, camera in hand.

Luckily, it all worked out.

This one needs to be explained. On the floor in front of Kinikini is a little ball of fur. Unlike store-bought cat toys, this home-made toy just naturally attracts cats. They immediately know that it’s a plaything. It’s light, they can easily bat it around the room or flick it across the floor with one paw.

This one was a product of our weekly phone call with a group of friends from our time at Whitman College back while the dinosaurs still roamed the earth. Bessie and Kinikini both made passes through our Zoom call, and I responded by grabbing a brush and giving them a good brushing, collecting the resulting fur, and compressing into a tight ball. All done. Free toy, recycled material. Sometimes they are a bit larger, this one was quite small. It doesn’t seem to matter.

In any case, with any luck, the week’s photos will be ready for viewing first thing Friday morning.

Thank you! We will miss you. But you know where to find the latest photos of the dogs we see in the morning, so you can keep up!

Such cuties! We have the same green rubber groomer but now use it for the dog instead. My kid bought a battery steam brush for our cat. I think it’s some kind of cold steam? Available at WalMart or Amazon. Pepper loves it. She is much cleaner because the steam cleans off the dried saliva dander created when she cleans herself. Also keeps the brushed hair from blowing around. All these modern conveniences are wonderful!
