Where in the world were we?

I’m in the slow process of scanning old snapshots so that I can archive them in the “cloud” somewhere.

Here are a couple probably taken nearly 50 years ago.

Meda and I are shown on the steps of a Friends Meeting House. It’s on an urban street, but neither of us recall where this was.

The signage in French and English suggests it might have been in Montreal, but I haven’t found any other photos online that include this building. I believe we might have been in Washington D.C., Baltimore, and Philadelphia during that same trip (because photos from those cities were elsewhere in the same album). But would the French/English signs have been used there?

Recognize the location? If so, please leave a comment below.

Based on the architectural styles, signage etc., ChatGBT is guessing Baltimore, Maryland, or Montreal, Canada :-).

I found the location, it’s 2196 Maisonneuve Blvd W in Montreal. I googled “Centre Quaker” Montreal, went to images, and found a website “Montreal Quaker Assembly” that states they used to be on Maisonneuve Blvd W. From there I went to google maps and just typed in 2196 from the house number in your photo.
