    That’s a great photo. It is fun to find the landmarks like Aloha Tower and Iolani Palace to get bearings. Then I saw the smoke in Ewa Beach. Looks like a brush fire. Mahalo for sharing

    Thanks, Ian. This is great. You can even see the Ferry Building. I wonder what Waikiki looked like from that same angle.

      If you had looked in the Diamond Head direction from the Punchbowl lookout you would likely have seen at least one high rise in Waikiki: the 12-floor Rosalei Apartment building at 445 Kaiolu St. It was built in 1955, and my recollection, from the intensity of my parents’s dismay, is that it was the first high rise in Waikiki.
