spent 3 years at ucsf, a generation ago, good luck, best and better care there. love your kahala photos, and cats.
How do u afford Kahala place on beach? seems idyllic…
We’re not on the beach. We’re not quite a quarter mile up Kealaolu from the beach park. And we’re able to be there because my parents bought the leasehold property in 1942, and we later co-signed a loan to buy the fee interest from Bishop Estate. Lots of luck along the way.
The beauty of paying it forward. As your parents have blessed you and others, so too do you and Meda bless many others also. Ripples of goodwill in the pond of life.
I love your photos of The City, Ian…. what a stunning view! My son is a 5th Generation SF native. Apart from Hawaii, SF is one of my favorite places – I know it well. I know this visit is eclipsed by your health, but I have great faith in the outcome, in part because of the medical team assembled by one of the best hospitals in the country, in one of the most progressive cities in the world. Mahalo for bringing us along with you and Meda.
If you’re up to dining out, on our last trip we came across a delightful nouveau French bistro called Routier.
All the best from Maui.
I never did get to SF.
Went to San Diego for a day from LA on the AmTrak
That was THE best day. Saw sea lions giving birth on the beach. Had a mock arrest my a spunky cop. Went to the Zoo for 4 hours. That was in 2003!
