Afternoon visitors

In the late afternoon, weather permitting, I sit on the back deck for an hour or so feeding the birds and wandering the internet. There are always several bulbuls (two varieties), at least one pair of mynah, several spotted doves, and a pair of Brazilian red-crested cardinals (my favorites). The Java sparrows that come for seed I toss out in the front hard rarely show up here on the deck.

There have been sad times when one of the regular birds was sick for a while and then disappeared. But usually this is an upbeat part of the day.

I look forward to this daily respite.

Afternoon visitors

Saturday morning at dawn

We were richly rewarded for getting up early. What a show, thanks to a layer of vog from the eruption of Kilauea volcano a couple of hundred miles away!
