I can’t be the only one thinking that the victims of the tragic tiger attack in San Francisco may have been playing out one of those “Messin with Sasquatch” commercials that have been shown frequently on television over the past several months. If you’re somehow not familiar with them, there’s a “messin with Sasquatch” web site featuring online versions of the ads, along with games and other stuff. If the boys were messing with the tigers, there certainly could be a link here. There’s even an eerie similarity in the violent endings of both the ads and the real life tiger attack. I wonder if those Sasquatch ads have been pulled in the wake of the San Francisco incident?

Fred Yamashiro, the developer whose bankruptcy has left hundreds of home buyers wondering whether their new houses on Department of Hawaiian Home Lands will ever be completed, is also facing a lawsuit filed by Jiro Noguchi, chairman of Centurion Insurance and Tri-Star Restaurant Group, which owns Aaron’s, Sarento’s, and Nick’s restaurants.

According to the suit, Yamashiro approached Noguchi in August 2007 and asked to borrow $400,000, to be secured by the promised “developer’s profit” of $393,600 from an April 2004 development deal with DHHL.

But, according to the lawsuit, Yamashiro made only two interest-only payments, the last in October 2007. When he failed to make the next payment, Noguchi allegedly discovered that the development agreement had never actually been executed by DHHL and Yamashiro.

The suit alleges Yamashiro engaged in “fraudulent misrepresentation” because he knew the developer’s profits pledged as security for the loan didn’t actually exist because the developer agreement had never really been finalized.
