I just saw the notice that Honolulu’s Board of Registration convened this mornning at 7 a.m. at the State Capitol and will be available “to sit and hear appeals of election challenges” until the polls close this evening.

Boards in each of the other counties are also at work today.

Section 11-26 HRS provides, in part:

(a) In cases where the clerk, or precinct officials, rules on a challenge on election day, the person ruled against may appeal from the ruling to the board of registration of the person’s county for review under part III. The appeal shall be brought before the challenger and challenged party leave the polling place. If an appeal is brought, both the challenger and the challenged voter may be parties to the appeal.

I imagine they will have a very interesting day.
