First thing–sit down at watch George W. Bush endorsement of the McCain-Palin ticket. From Saturday Night Live, of course.
The news this morning seems full of bad polling news for John McCain and reports of Sarah Palin going “rogue” by straying from McCain’s prepared script.
The “rogue diva” is a title she’s apparently now sporting.
Let’s see. Several things from readers.
One sent this link to an essay in which Obama discusses his plans regarding American Indian policy.
My American Indian policy begins with creating a bond between an Obama administration and the tribal nations all across this country. We need more than just a government-to-government relationship; we need a nation-to-nation relationship, and I will make sure that tribal nations have a voice in the White House.
I’ll appoint an American Indian policy adviser to my senior White House staff to work with tribes, and host an annual summit at the White House with tribal leaders to come up with an agenda that works for tribal communities. That’s how we’ll make sure you have a seat at the table when important decisions are being made about your lives, about your nations and about your people. That’ll be a priority when I am president.
She commented:
Is there a possibility of hope and change that he could compel our Native Hawaiians to a clearer voice in Congress? Not sure of others opinion, but reading this gave me chicken skin.
Here’s another reader comment:
Asked by the Star-Bulletin’s editorial board more than two weeks ago about whether McCain’s health plan would essentially pre-empt Hawaii’s health care system, Lingle said, “I don’t want to answer for sure. I can find out and get back to you.”
[If you think that sounds familiar, you’re right.]
What the f__k is up with Republican Governors and “I’ll try to find ya some and I’ll bring ’em to ya?!” Is Lingle not capable of giving a speech without Lenny Kompus’ hand up her backside? Isn’t this something she might want to know before shooting her mouth off? What poor leadership from a lame-duck governor. Is this the best we can do in this state?
Another reader flagged this story about how the near collapse of AIG is now causing financing woes for the Los Angeles rail system. Whether this will impact financial plans for Honolulu’s rail system remains to be seen.
Finally, a peek at our dinner last night, a huge bowl of shrimp & pasta, served with salad, wine, and cats. Click the photo for more.

Loved these two lines from Sarah Palin going Rogue article:
“I am in awe of [Palin’s] strength under constant fire by the media,” she said in an e-mail. “If someone wants to throw me under the bus, my personal belief is that the most graceful thing to do is to lie there.”
and
“There are people in this campaign who feel a real sense of loyalty to her and are really pleased with her performance and think she did a great job,” said the McCain insider. “She has a real future in this party.”
Paints an interesting picture of the party, no?
Alas, not enough cats in the party for me. Cat-iness in the media they’ll claim, but it’s not the same.
