Feline Friday–Then

[text]I don’t really know if this was a Friday or not, but it could have been.

It’s a photo of our living room in around 1980, when we lived in a two-bedroom townhouse in the Tropic Garden condominium in Kahala.

Our dining table was a small card table seen on the far left. We had two chairs in the living room, one a cast-off originally from John & Aiko Reinecke that came to us after given away a second time by UH religion professor Jim Douglass and his wife, Shelley. The chair on the right, seen before we had it recovered, was rescued second-hand from another friend.

At that time, we lived happily with just two cats, both total insiders. If you look closely at this picture (you’ll probably have to click for the larger version), you’ll see that each chair is occupied by a cat. People would have had to sit elsewhere, either at the dining table or on the carpeted floor.

Typical of cat people.

OK Ian, now you’ve whetted my curiosity–do you have any photos of your apt. in Jade Tower circa 1973-75? I recall you had a cat scratching rug thingie and I kinda recall two cats at that time, too.
