Valentine’s Day in Kaaawa? Yup. We were a couple of blocks from home, on the return leg of our daily walk to the beach at dawn, when we passed this house where preparations for a festive Valentine’s Day breakfast were well underway. It was all smiles as the table on the deck was being set with flowers, glasses, etc.
Now I’m probably in trouble. No flowers. One of the cats did bring a dead mouse. I don’t suppose that counts for a Valentine gift, though.
But I am making cornbread muffins in a cast aluminum muffin pan that Meda found in the Beretania Goodwill Store last week. If my memory starts fading immediately after breakfast, I know who to blame!
So it goes out here in Kaaawa.

David and I are going to the opera for our valentine day’s treat!
What was for breakfast? A croissant sandwich from Jack in the box. Yeah, we could’ve been more imaginative. Cornbread muffins sound great! From a mix or from scratch?
