Mr. Duke introduces today’s Feline Friday

Mr. DukeAfter seven months of dieting and two months of twice daily insulin shots, Mr. Duke is looking like he feels pretty good. Yesterday afternoon he was out in the yard with several other cats following me around as I put some water on very dry plants. Our biggest problem is arranging our daily schedule so that we’re home at the right time for his shots.

Duke is pleased to introduce this Feline Friday. You’ll notice Toby and Ms. Annie are missing from today’s photos, but the other seven cats provide plenty of feline energy.

Phosphorescent colors in your yard, especially on the first picture of Ms. Kili – great photography as usual. Mahalo!

We have at least three feline staff openings and one canine position as well.

I note that the Humane Society has a 2-4-1 special through the end of the month for cats older than six months + a free older cats to old human futs.

Anyone here take them up on the offer?

All of our cats have adopted us in diverse places ranging from a dumpster – I thought someone had dumped a baby in it because the howling was so loud – to the Kailua Post office parking lot during a major rainstorm replete with thunder & lightning to the East-West Center Road where another kitty parked her butt and challenged me to drive over her or pick her up.

However, not a single person of the feline persuasion has presented him or herself in over four years. I guess the Big Red X on our foreheads has disappeared since I am sure that there are plenty out there.

If you don’t know anything about the Humane Society’s special, please pass the word along that we’re looking. Mahalo.
