There was a beautiful sunrise this morning in Kaaawa. As we walked to the beach, I was watching the sun and taking pictures. So I just didn’t notice what was on the beach in the lower right of that top photo.

But friends who came along after us passed the news: Seal sighting. Did you spot her in the middle photo, below?

This is probably the same seal, known as K.C., who frequents this coast. She was sound asleep, looking very much like just another rock on the sand. In fact, even knowing approximately where she was sleeping, I walked right past. Meda had to call me back to get these pictures.

Hopefully she’ll be left alone to sleep it off.
