This photo captures the feeling of this morning. Moments of sunny weather, soon replaced by the clouds and rain in the background.

The morning started with hope spawned by accident. I had been fiddling with my computer and, as has been the case for over a week, it tried to start but got hung up on the blank blue screen. But then I touched the power button in preparation for shutting down, and the sign-on screen suddenly appeared. I entered my password, and it continued normally. Ready to roll! That’s when we left the house for the morning walk. Full of optimism and hope.

Back home. I should have paid attention to the rain on the horizon.

I restarted the computer in order to see if it’s new-found normalcy could be replicated. The brief answer: Not so much.

I restarted perhaps a dozen times. Twice it started normally. The rest floundered on the blue screen. It will consistently start in “safe mode.”

I had briefly hoped that today’s visit to the genius bar at the Apple Store wouldn’t be necessary after all, but no such luck.

Hopefully, all my problems will be solved at the Apple Store and tomorrow I can return to normal blogging. Cross your fingers!
