Not everyone in Kaaawa escaped flooding after last night’s thunderstorm and downpour.
This house on Kamehameha Highway has a history of poor drainage and seems to flood with most heavy rains, but elsewhere, even in the low lying areas of Kaaawa, flooding appears to have been minimal.
The ground managed to soak up more water than I thought possible, and drainage under the highway to the ocean was open and lots of water obviously flowed overnight.

What kind of camera are you using? The pictures are very clear and beautiful.
This morning was was carrying my Canon 5D II. Excellent but expensive. And much heavier to lug around than my other point-and-shoot cameras. Image quality, though, is a few cuts above.
