We were up early this morning as usual, except that today is our 42nd anniversary!
I had to rub my eyes a few times at the sight of that number. Can it really be true? I double checked my math, and my memory. Yes, definitely #42.
So here’s Ian & Meda this morning on our walk along the beach in Kaaawa.

And here we are, just a few years ago, outside Jude Sidney Feinberg’s chambers in the Santa Clara County Municipal Court, on August 15, 1969. A romantic spot, no?

If you’re a glutton for punishment, or a history buff, you can check out my photos of the whole exciting affair.

Congratulations Mr. & Mrs. Lind! I couldn’t help but click on the “whole exciting affair.” Simple, beautiful and most importantly, hopeful!
Thank you for sharing…that was a lovely trip down memory lane. And congratulations to the both of you!
You are both so lucky to have each other. Many more years.
First 42 are the hardest. You got it made! Loved the photos.
Charming pictures. My best wishes to you for many more. My wife and I were also married in 1969 and are looking forward to our 42d in December this year. I grew up in Kailua and hung out on your lane with the Yap kids. Also in Ian’s class in graduate school. Did not go to Whitman, but visited my friend there– another Kailua boy. We shared your contractor– Chris Emerson. Love your blog, your cats and dogs, and your thoughtful posts.
Congrats from a Big Island fan! All the best for the next 42!
An auspicious date, indeed. The first day of Woodstock. For those of us on the East Coast it was a big deal.
