Last April, I wrote about a man’s search for his cousins, who he believed had lived in Hawaii at one time.
Barry Tabel search was launched after he found old family photos among his mother’s possessions after her death.
He thought that his cousins, who he never met, would be in their 60s.
Finally, just this week, the husband of one of those cousins found that post and responded.
Barry, I am married to the daughter of Evelyn Tapia. We have been on a 5 year seach for information. You are just the person we are looking for. Her Grandmother is Doris, who we also know as Chiyoko Tapia. I would like to contact you ASAP to finally reunite you with your cousin. We have Information that could be valuable to us all.
I was then able to get the word back to Barry, and…Success!
Today, Barry sent his thanks to everyone who helped.
Tal – Thanks for contacting me. Chatting with you and your wife was just fantastic. Looking forward to doing what I can to fill in the blanks for you as to our mutual family.
Again, Mahalo to Ian for hosting this quest and Ryan Ozawa for steering me to Ian. Also, many thanks to all those who read these posts and put positive energy into a successful outcome. Blessings to all.
I think thanks should also go to Google for facilitating such searches and making the world a whole lot smaller.

With the help of Google I recently located someone I have been trying to find for over a decade. I was very excited for about five minutes, but hopes were quickly dashed when I found out this person is now a white supremacist.
So thanks Google. If I had just found a number in a phone book I wouldn’t have known it was a very bad idea to renew that friendship! I’m glad Barry’s quest turned out better than mine. 😉
Maybe your white supremacist “friend” needs some of the prescription drugs the TV star is using, that may change his outlook on life.
