We’ve been leaving the house in the morning about 6:30 a.m. to watch the sunrise, but we’re going to have to shift our schedule to get going earlier. These days, the sun is already coming up by the time we get down to the beach, especially if we detour to walk up to the end of the road behind the Kaaawa station before turning around and heading down towards Swanzy Beach Park and beyond.

Within a short time, even a 6 a.m. departure will be too late to get the sunrise. It’s one of those little signs of Hawaii’s changing seasons. And it’s one of those things that wreaks havoc on my blogging schedule.

I took this photo from the other end of the beach in Kaaawa, looking back towards Kaaawa Elementary School. The light focuses attention on the beach and the school, and that cloud in the background adds some nice emphasis.
