Here’s an example of that aggravating ghost box that’s been showing up this week, just in case you haven’t run into it yet. This is how it looked earlier this morning when I checked the site.
Looking over the comments, I’m going to try removing the “Share” plug-in and see if the ghost box disappears.

Had the same problem on my WP blog recently. It was only evident on one post. In Firefox the box appeared like the image you posted, but in IE it was a solid white rectangle that actually blocked the content underneath. I also found that deactivating the ShareThis plugin solved the problem.
I’m using the WP Socializer plugin in the meantime, which is more customizable and better in certain ways, but I would still prefer to go back to ShareThis because it did exactly what I wanted out of the box.
