Mr. Romeo welcomes you to another Feline Friday in Kaaawa.
He’s quite a character, in addition to being a YouTube star.
And he’s smart.
Meda noticed one of his better moves this week, which involved a dispute with Ms. Kili over a bowl of food. Ms. Kili is the matriarch of our current cohort of cats, and once she got her face down into the cat food, Romeo had to sort of stand back a bit. Instead of challenging her directly or trying to push her out of the way, he reached his paw out and just dragged the bowl away from Kili and over to himself. Then he just dove into the food while Kili was trying to figure out what had happened.

We have three dogs. The smartest is Mattie. One day after she finished eating, she ran to the front gate and barked like crazy – at nothing. One dog came over to join her and barked at the outside world. Mattie calmly trotted back and ate the other dog’s food. What a shyster.
