Feline Friday: Harry found the calendars (not the Mayan one)

Ms. HarryIf you’re reading this, it seems to mean that the Mayans’ got it wrong and life on earth didn’t end today, at least not yet.

So scheduling this in advance to be posted this morning, as I did last night, was an act of faith.

On the cat front, Ms. Harry had a visit to the vet this week after she lost her appetite. It looks like she had a minor upper respiratory infection, and that was the only issue our vet could identify. So she’s on antibiotics and has been slowly feeling better. She’s also enjoying getting to lounge around downstairs where she can be the only cat, free from harassment by Toby and others.

Yesterday she decided that the best place for a nap was in a box containing the rest of our annual calendars that are waiting to be distributed. Luckily my camera was at hand.

I’m also thinking of shifting Duke from Science Diet M/D to the W/D food. He keeps gaining weight even on a relatively strict ration of M/D. The alternative W/D is a low fat approach to a diabetic diet, and maybe it will help Duke’s weight get under control. It’s an empirical question. We’ll see.

I hate to start the morning out on a negative note but the Mayans DID NOT predict that the world would end today. Today is the end of their long count calendar that is all. They had nothing to say about the end of the world. WE then loaded on all of this end of world nonsense.

The mankind penchant to end the world is unending, remember he nutsy old radio preacher in SF Bay Area who predicted it twice last year and had many doomsday followers.
