Welcome to Feline Friday (on Saturday)!
You will definitely have to click to view a larger version of this photo.
There you will see Toby and Romeo doing duty as border guards. Toby is down in the lower left, Romeo at the upper right. They are fixated on the fence area and the house next door, where another six or eight cats now reside. There have been some border clashes, and some straying across the fence line, and now Romeo, Duke, and Toby can often be found just standing guard. Just in case.
In other cat news, Duke’s glucose levels have been slowly rising again. I finally had to give in and buy a new vial of insulin, just in case there’s some issue with the prior batch. At $150 per tiny bottle, this is a big “ouch,” but if it manages to drop his readings down to their prior levels, it will be well worth it. We’ll see.

p.s.–Yesterday’s regularly scheduled Feline Friday was disrupted when my laptop crashed again. It’s a long tale of woe. I’ll just say that I modified my MacBook Pro two years ago with an internal solid state drive to speed things up. This modification causes problems when seeking Apple service. The current “issues” are recurrent but intermittent only, so have been hard to diagnose. It’s been through one repair cycle, and it appears to have been fixed. But yesterday, after a couple of hours of work in the early morning, it went down again. I’m not sure what I’m going to do. Perhaps I’ll have to start shopping for a “new” reconditioned laptop.
In any case, I’m working with another computer, using my external backup drive to access my applications and photos. I can get by for a while.

#7 Duke was doing a Jedi mind trick… “You can’t see me…you can’t see me.” Appreciate the Feline Fridays. Thanks.
Ah, I should have recognized his Jedi skills!
