Two old guys welcome you to another Feline Friday.

Romeo loves to be a lap cat, and he’s created a new morning routine to get his way.

When we come back from our early morning walk, the coffee goes on and I pull out my laptop, set it on the dining table, and start worrying about what to post here for the day.

Romeo now strolls over and heads right for the small tangle of wires around the power strip that fuels our computers, a fan, and iPhone/iPad chargers. He sticks one of those big front paws into the pile, grabs the edge of the power strip just enough to lift it off the ground, and then lets it fall with a satisfying sound. If I don’t react, he repeats the process. If I try to push him away, he goes Gandhi on me, doing his passive resistance thing (which he is very, very good at). My only options are (a) walk over into the kitchen and feed him, or (b) hoist him up into my lap, where he will quickly turn around and go to sleep.

He is a smart cat. He always gets his way.

Anyhow, this particular photo was taken at the other end of the day, as we sat on our deck enjoying the sunset and a glass of wine. Well, Romeo actually didn’t get a glass of wine, although he may have gotten a few tastes of raw fish before finding his way into my lap.
