The clouds were menacing, and there was rain just offshore, but we managed to finish our walk this morning without having to deploy our umbrellas.

This happens a lot. We would rather have the umbrella when needed, and carry it unnecessarily the rest of the time, rather than err in the other direction and end up drenched now and then. At one point, someone referred to us as “the umbrella people.”
