Mr. Romeo earned himself a trip to visit with Dr. Nagata at VCA yesterday morning by going and getting himself in another fight. This time I didn’t notice his new injuries until Wednesday evening after they had scabbed over. He ended up with several good scratches on the top of his head and his left ear. So I was on the phone early yesterday morning to get an appointment, and we showed up at VCA mid-morning.
Romeo wasn’t happy about it, but the antibiotic shot he received means I don’t have to pill him twice a day for the next 10 days. That’s a big relief and a huge advance in vet medicine!
In the meantime, Romeo is on medical lockdown. He’ll be spending time in our little kitty “spa” downstairs, a room where he can look outside but not get outside. At least until he heals up a bit and calms down. From the way he is fixated on defending his territory, you would think he still had all his body parts.
Elsewhere on the cat front, Ms. Wally had a good week. I was able to get that little appetite pill down her every few days, and she has been eating better as a result.
All the rest are status quo.

For Ms. Wally, try Gerber’s baby food like beef, turkey, chicken or veal. Just a teaspoon at a time can be enough to get her going.
We do “prime the pump” with baby food when necessary. So sometimes I mix in some egg yolk.
Hey, Romeo is a wounded warrior who received his wounds defending his “country”. So you are going to put him in jail for that?
He probably got into an Alec Baldwin-style mix-up with the paparazzi, after the enormous popularity of his “Wake up” video made him an Internet star. Temperamental little guy. I just hope he doesn’t forget where he came from, and all the fans who made him what he is today.
