In lieu of my regular weekly update on our Kaaawa cats, which I have had to defer until my hand mends, here’s a batch of cat pics first posted back in September 2002. This photo shows Duke, then just over four months old, with his mother, Ms. Cybelle, who we had rescued from a hoarder’s home. Duke was already a big boy. His mother died shortly of previously undiagnosed diabetes.

In October 2002, we rescued Toby when he was just a few weeks old, and Duke “mothered” him.

In any case, this little gallery has several cute photos of the young Mr. Duke.
