This morning was the calm after the storm.
Kaaawa was among the places blasted by strong winds early Wednesday evening. The top was ripped off a coconut tree behind a friend’s house, and yards are littered with leaves and small branches blown here and there.
But there’s only the gentlest of wind this morning, with a bit of the north shore surf is wrapping around to our part of the island.
In any case, this was the view on the beach in Kaaawa a little after 7 a.m. this morning. Enjoy.

Nice shot. What camera are you using these days?
I recently updated my small “carry around” camera to a Canon S120. It’s the same size and appearance as the S100 I had been using, but with updated innards. Much faster, dramatically reduced shutter lag. It’s new, so I’m still learning.
I looked at a bunch of the new cameras, thought about going a different direction, but the S120 is mederately priced and my experience with the Canon brand has been good.
