Welcome to another Feline Friday!
Mr. Romeo leads the way today.
This is part of his new morning routine. On most mornings, I let him go outside for about 10 minutes as soon as we get back from our morning walk. Lumber, the wandering orange cat from down the hill, doesn’t get up to our yard until later in the day, so it is relatively safe.
After that 10 minutes, maybe a little longer, I go out, locate him, carry him back up the stairs and into the house, and close the door, then reward him with a spoonful of canned cat food. That cheers him up.
But the frustration sets in quickly. He comes over and meows, loudly, right next to my chair. Then he scratches my leg and I yell at him. His latest trick is to hop onto the table and lay down right next to my computer while I’m trying to do the day’s blog post. He then leans over, sneaks his front paws onto the keyboard, rubs his face on the corner of the laptop screen, and generally makes a pest of himself under the guise of being a friendly cat. If I try to push him back away from the computer, sometimes he will threaten to scratch or bite, sometimes just put all his weight into leaning towards the keyboard. I still don’t have a winning strategy. Usually I have to give him a couple more rounds of food. Then he goes to sleep somewhere.
Other than this, the cats are doing okay right now.

The caption for that pic of Romeo could be: Dude- don’t even think of coming into my yard…
A squirt bottle full of water. That is what we use to discourage bad behavior.
