Ms. Kili welcomes you to this week’s Feline Friday.
But this time around it’s different. That’s Kili was she was back ten years, in the summer of 2004. Kili looks about the same, just a little sassier than today. Toby looks like a youngster. He was two years old at the time.
The census in 2004: Kili, Wally, Leo, Harry, Duke, Toby, Annie, Silverman.
Wally was in her prime. Annie’s there, along with Mr. Duke in one of his favorite, poured-across-the-floor poses.
Leo and Silverman are no longer with us.
Poor Mr. Leo. Rescued on Fathers Day in 1999, Leo was always a bit feral, and a little hard luck. He suffered a ruptured bladder, and survived. He was the first of our cats to start “inappropriate urination,” to use a polite term for peeing outside the box, perhaps because he was the first to feel the stress of over occupancy. And he died early, at only ten years old, after suffering a stroke.
Silverman was making himself at home, although he wasn’t a full-time resident, more of a “stop by for dinner” kind of cat. Later, of course, he took over the territory and was with us full time.

Love that pic of Kili- classic cat sidestroke position
Duke and Annie look cute in the tall grass, and “scents of place” is quite the turn of phrase. 🙂
