It’s that magic day again, Feline Friday, the perfect end to the work week.

Mr. Romeo has been feeling really good. We’ve gotten him slimmed down quite a bit, so he’s got more energy, which he wants to burn off by going outside to guard against incursions by Lumber, the wandering orange cat from down the hill. And when he doesn’t get to go out, Romeo has to do something with all the excess energy. Some of it is burned off attacking my feet as if they were big cat toys created specifically for his pleasure. But when I finally shut down that game, he has to find something else.

Yesterday he found it necessary to play at the base of the cat tree, right under the perch where Toby had been quietly napping. You can see the wide-eyed wild look on Romeo’s face as he tries to stir up a bit of trouble.
