Feline Friday: Checking in with our feline senior citizens

Ms. HarryMs. Harry, also known as Harriet, welcomes you to another Feline Friday.

I took these photos this morning after getting back from our early walk. My walk was a little different than normal, after I detoured into the muddy back roads of Kaaawa’s agricultural land to return a dog found on the beach this morning to his proper home. He was a very well trained dog. We were told he almost got hit crossing the highway, and a woman across the street pointed us back towards where he lives. I had an old leash in my bag of dog biscuits, and he happily went off with me in search of familiar surroundings. I got close, I think, but never ran into any people. I ended up leaving him tied to a tree in a prominent spot. After walking back to our house on the other end of Kaaawa and getting a cup of coffee, I drove back to make sure the dog was okay, and found he had already been freed. Neither dog nor leash was anywhere in sight. Hopefully he ended up back home.

In my absence, Meda had let the cats out for some time in the yard. Romeo, Duke, Toby, Harriet, Annie, and Kili were all outside. Wally was the only one still in the house. I grabbed a camera and followed them outside. It made me realize that Feline Friday’s have become more difficult since we stopped letting the cats roam at will. Old cats don’t run around the house and get into everything like kittens do. Their inside lives are kind of boring, and the camera has tended to catch that in recent months. I’ll have to look for ways to add some new stimulation to their indoor existence!

–> Anyway, see all of today’s Friday Felines!

Nothing boring about your cats! They are beautiful just sitting still, and your photography is excellent. It brightens my Fridays to see them. Thanks.
