Where are they now, I sometimes wonder, when coming across an old image like this.
Today it’s Mrs. Ginder’s third grade class at Kahala Elementary School. This was the school’s second academic year after opening.
Yes, your’s truly is all innocent looking there in the top row.

I wonder what’s happened to my former classmates…I know my friend Chad died very early, it seems like at least 25 years ago. And I’ve been in email contact with Beverly Tharp, a very good professional photographer living in San Francisco. I also got as close as Terry Malang’s sister, who reported on his whereabouts.
I imagine some of these former third graders are still living in Hawaii. If you see anyone you know, leave a comment, please!

From her picture, Mrs. Ginder seems kinda stern.
That’s because Ian had just learned that Lowell Dillingham had been strong-armed into hiring the mayor’s nephew to do all the electrical work at the new Ala Moana Center as payment for having gotten permission to build it in the first place.
