Another week, another Feline Friday, now coming to you from our new home in Old Kahala (well, in some ways our old, new home, in that twisted, “you’ve moved into your parents’ old place” stage of life).

The cats, after about a month, are a bit farther along in the adaptation process. It’s taking time. But at least mealtimes are becoming more normal. This photo shows the cats at breakfast. It was about 5:15 a.m., they were hungry, and all were in their places. On the floor, Toby, Duke, Kili, and Romeo. On the counter, getting special treatment, is Ms. Annie. She has special permission to eat on the counter.

At night, after we’ve gone to bed, Annie and Romeo can often be found sitting on a window sill in our “guest” bedroom that faces the street. They’re just watching the world go by. I wish I knew what they were thinking.

During the day, there doesn’t seem to be as much interest in outside. Or not enough interest to interfere with prime nap times. I’m glad that they haven’t gotten into the “break out at any opportunity” approach to the outside work here. With a relatively busy street out in front, we want to keep them all safely inside. So far, so good.
