Another Kahala dawn (photographs)

January 10, 2015At this time of year, we start our morning walks about 6:20 a.m., and we get to the beach around 6:30. The sun doesn’t come up until about 7:10. So it’s dark when we leave the house and walk down Kealaolu Avenue to the beach park, and it’s hard to tell what kind of a morning it’s going to be. Some days are ordinary, and I end up with photos that are just “blah”. Others are incredibly beautiful.

This morning was clear and cool, and I told Meda that it usually takes some clouds to produce the brilliant colors that mark those especially gorgeous mornings. Today was one of the exceptions. The clarity of the morning light became the dominant theme. And the camera caught it perfectly.

By the way, if you click to see the larger version of the last photo in this series, you can just see the drone that’s been practicing for the upcoming Sony Open. It’s hovering just offshore.

I was missing your Kaaawa beach pictures when you moved, but this batch of Kahala prints rate up there with your Kaaawa scenes. What a difference each morning makes. Good on ya Ian.
