Mr. Romeo welcomes you to yet another Feline Friday.

He posed for this picture while sitting at an open window looking out to the back yard. He seems to like to watch, but more importantly to track the smells that are blown his way. We don’t leave this window open all the time for security reasons, but when it’s open, then this becomes one of his favorite spots.

Romeo did pay a visit to the vet this week, mostly preventive. He weighed in at 15 pounds, maybe an ounce over. That’s down from his once-upon-a-time fighting weight of about 18 pounds. I had him on a diet for about a year, and he slowly lost several pounds Now I’ve largely abandoned the diet, and have been just trying to keep him stable. So far, it seems to be working.

I forgot to mention that when we took Annie for a checkup recently, Dr. Sakamoto reported she has a slight but detectable heart murmur. She’s going back soon for a recheck, and perhaps more diagnostics. But they are all getting older. Annie is the youngest of our current cats, and she is about 12 years old. These are things we just have to deal with.
