I’m struggling to fix several issues affecting those of you who have signed up to receive daily posts via email.
Trying to figure out how to retool this subscription system has been driving me up the walls today.
Hopefully, you’ll bear with me as this gets worked out.

Was there an email waiting to greet you? And, if so, was it content from January 2 or an older post from mid-December?
If you are one of the previous email subscribers, please let me know.
Some of this is above my pay grade, so feedback will help me tinker and understand was is going on and when it’s finally fixed.

I don’t know if it is related to your email subscription mystery or not, but I often read you via RSS and recently the reader (Feedly.com) repeatedly shows a “new” post about the second part of your cataract procedure. It’s good news, but I don’t need to see it more than once. Likewise, your Twitter feed keeps linking to that post also. ??
Yes, I believe it’s all related. Something to do with weird behavior by Feedburner, which is now part of Google but has largely been orphaned. I’m switching the email subscriptions over to MailChimp, following a recommendation found online while trying to figure out the other issue. Now I have to figure out why that “new” old post has stalled out the process.
I receive your posts daily via a Windows RSS reader called Sage. No problems or glitches at all.
