I never know what’s going to be lurking in the back of one of my old folders. Always an adventure. An often another treasure.

This was the front page of the Honolulu Advertiser on May 5, 1977. It traces the evolution of #37, Richard M. Nixon.

Squint a bit, and let your imagination run, and you may be able to see the future graphic featuring 45.

But then again, I doubt he’s capable of even as much self-reflection as Nixon.

    If Trump turned around tomorrow and repeated his beliefs that Obama was born in Africa

    1/4 of America would believe him.
    They literally would believe him. And they would rejoice.

    Think about that.
    Putin is Trump’s ally, but idiot voters are Trump’s godsend.

    As loathsome is Trump is, he has not killed a fraction of the people Nixon did. If the Nuremberg standards were really universal, he would have been hanged.
    Of course, Trump has plenty of time to equal and surpass Nixon’s criminality.
