Regular Feline Friday visitors may remember that Romeo had dental surgery last week, losing two front canines and one other tooth in the process. He did mope around for a couple of days, got a boost from three days of pain relief, and then–several days ahead of schedule–started eating dry cat food again. Romeo, at least, seems to prefer dry cat food to most varieties of fresh or canned food. I’m not sure why, and he’s not telling.

In the meantime, our living room is now decorated with two cat-size cardboard delivery boxes from Amazon. As you can see, they remain popular with Romeo and Annie, so they haven’t gotten recycled yet. They’re a lot less expensive than the fancy cat beds you buy, only to discover they’re uniformly ignored by the cats.

So it goes.

I can’t figure out why Ms. Annie looks so large in this photo. Something about lighting, perspective, and the wide angle lens. Romeo is actually bigger than Annie, but it sure doesn’t look like it here.

And although it looks like she was going to roust Romeo from the box, she ended up just sauntering past in order to occupy a catnip toy that was sitting nearby.
