One on the way to church on Sunday morning in 1955. The other, taken at the Makapuu lookout, probably after church on a different Sunday in 1954.
How about that bow tie? What a look!
Bonnie and I would be dropped off to attend services and Sunday School at Holy Nativity Church (Episcopal) in Aina Haina. My parents did not attend. My mother said she wanted to give us a grounding in the church so that, later in life, we could make our own somewhat informed decisions about religion and life. Looking back, I appreciate that.
