Time for your weekly “fix” of behind-the-scenes cat pics from our feline-centric household.

This week in cat news…Duke is back on a relatively strict diabetic diet. I had been mixing in a bit of junk food for variety. But with his recent up-and-down glucose readings, I realized the junk food could have contributed to the problem. So he’s back on boring, low-carb food. It hasn’t been a full week yet, but he’s taking it relatively well so far.

But it’s complicated because Duke and Romeo normally eat side by side. So either Romeo also goes on the diabetic diet, or I have to feed him separately and keep Duke away from Romeo’s food. I’ve been doing a little bit of both.

And Annie had a vet visit this week. It was a relatively routine “semi-annual” exam. She lost a few ounces, so I’m shifting her back to an earlier cat food, which she seemed to like better than her current one. And, no, she doesn’t get the diabetic diet because she eats separately, and the boys don’t typically try to eat from her dish. They respect her ability to defend her turf!
