Here’s an oddball question

Actually, it’s a straightforward question about odd balls. Odd balls of sand, that is.

What are these little pea-sized balls of sand that appear on the beach periodically?

They’re spread out over large areas, like this. You can click on the photo to display a larger version.

Here’s what they look like up close. What are they? Do the sand crabs make them? And, if so, what’s their function?

    I am not sure this is supported by research but I strongly suspect these little balls of sand is what happens to Trumpers in the next life….if they get that far which many seriously doubt.

    Sand bubbler crab. When they pau eat whatever in the sand, the ‘sand bubble’ is the remnants.
