Here’s your weekly glimpse behind the scenes with our geriatric cats.
Actually, it was a tough week for them all.
Duke’s been on another seesaw ride with his blood glucose readings crashing to dangerous lows a couple of times during the week. When that happens, I have to first get some sugur in him to bounce off the lowest readings, then spend days trying to get him stabilized again. At this point, I can’t find a pattern behind the sudden crashes, and I just have to try to respond as best I can. Meanwhile, I know this can’t be good for his system, and I have that background worry about what’s really going on.
Romeo meanwhile continues his deal with hairballs. I think it’s partly because he’s much less active than he used to be. Age related, you know, although he did take a turn or two playing with the ribbon anchoring a “Happy Anniversary” balloon leftover from our party last Saturday.
Annie has been scratching her ears, and I’ve started putting some topical ointment on them. Hopefully that will work.
Our vet is on a fishing trip in Alaska this week, but I’ll probably take them all in for another round of checks next week when she gets back.

Happy 50th, guess only question is did old Cats have more or less frolicking than Humans?
Old age is a lot of fun, remembering when you were young. Maybe sharing memories preferential.
Besides aging is not for panties!
Golden, Pau Hana Years, was entirely lies… just fake News!
I know from experience that regulating blood sugar in a sick cat is very difficult. And very difficult to know when enough is enough.
